ten things about my dad [26 May 2008|03:05pm]
1. He used to be sheriff of Neptune California.
2. Most parents will tell you that their child is the most important thing in their lives, but they're really just selfish drunks who run off with your college tuition. What I mean is, I really am the most important thing to him.
3. He's never grounded me without a good reason. (And sometimes he doesn't ground me, even with good reason.)
4. He's the best P.I. for your bucks. Next to me of course :D
5. He killed a man in Reno just to watch him die. Okay, that's not entirely true, but he has killed for the job.
6. He's the second biggest pain in the side to Kane Software
7. He dated my best friend's mother.
8. He dated my school counselor.
9. He dated a married woman.
10. He lost his job for me.

Who: Veronica Mars, open
What: Arriving back to school
When: Early afternoon.
Where: Her dorm room
Rating: TBD

When her doctor showed up in the wee hours of the morning and finally said she could go home, she threw her arms around him in excitment. She was glad to finally be able to get out of her bed for more than small periods of time. Mostly, she was excited to be able to get out of that unflattering robe that would inevitably show her backside if she walked around too fast. The thought of having everyone surrounding her again as she tried to book it out of there sounded less than appealing.

She decided to take a cab back to the dorm and email everyone once she got there. Everyone had work or class anyway, no one would notice she was missing till they got her messages anyway.

She just needed some time to be alone. To be normal. She wondered if her roomate had any idea why she was missing. Would she lie to her or tell her the truth if it came up?

She rolled down her sleeves and decided not to think about it. For now most of her burns could be hidden by pants and long sleeved shirts. Not the most inventive of ideas, but the weather seemed to working with her on this one, covering their small town in a heavy blanket of snow.

She sent out emails, and decided to check her inbox. Lots of angry customers. Some of these emails must have been sent before they heard the news of the fire from Chloe and Mac.

She jumped as she heard the door open behind her.

Who: Veronica Mars
What: Another cryptic dream filled with guilt
Where: A party a long time ago (Veronica's hospital room)
When: Like she knows what time it is
Rating: PG13
Status: Complete

The room had a surreal fuzzy quality about it, the lighting was bright and soft yet no one seemed to notice.

"Earth to Veronica Mars," the small blonde said as she waved her hand in front of Veronica.

"Lily?" Veronica asked as she stopped looking around and focused on the girl sitting to the left of her. "Why are we here?"

"Duh Veronica, this is it, this is the place."

"What place?"

"The place where you ruined everyone's life. If you hadn't told me about Logan and Yolanda I never would have dumped him." A smile spread across her face. "Okay, I lied, I totally would have. But who knows, maybe the whole thing with Aaron would have been different. I would have told you about him eventually, you know that right? We could have figured out what to do with those tapes together."

"I've had this dream before Lily, there's no way my life could ever have been perfect," she set her hand down next to her only to find another hand holding it. She looked to her right.

Wallace smiled up at her, Mac peeked her head out from behind him giving her a hesitant smile. Still, Lily was the only one who spoke. "Look at them Veronica. They didn't need you. Wallace, well, he would have been a bad ass baller wouldn't he? Jeeze Veronica, he would have been friends with half the school by the end of the game. You too Veronica. You didn't need to drag him into your pariah club."

She tilted her head, "and Mac, well, I think she would have been better off with out you." She shrugged and mouthed out a 'sorry' to Mac. "I mean gosh Veronica. Can you imagine what a drag it was for her to learn that Madison Sinclair had her oh so perfect and rich family. Oh, and don't forget, Beav would have never given her a second look if it hadn't been for you." She laughed, "you really messed up that one, didn't you Veronica?"

Three blonde girls of various heights stood in front of Veronica badly charred.

Lily frowned, "there's that poor girl you Chloe brings around. And Chloe. And that strange girl you had coffee with. God Veronica, I can't believe that you've become such a loser that your way hotter doppleganger had to off your ACQUAINTANCES. Sad."

"I've been busy." Veronica whispered under her breath, trying not to cry in terror at the sight in front of her

"You weren't to busy to do other cases when you were supposed to be figuring out who killed me. You weren't too busy to move in on my boyfriend." Logan sat next to Lily and the two of them shared a passionate kiss.

Veronica turned away, but she could still hear them, "I'm sorry Lily, I'm so sorry everyone."

"What about me Veronica?" She looked up tears falling from her face. Her father gave her a look of anger and sadness. "I told you it would kill me Veronica. You're all I have."

"Daddy..."
